Strengthening Laboratory Services for Improved Treatment Outcomes for People Living with HIV
Lab services play an integral role in the treatment, care, and suppression of HIV and in achieving the UNAIDS 95-95-95 targets. More than 5,000 people receive antiretroviral (ART) treatment at Solwezi Urban Clinic, where they also go for viral load testing to monitor how well the treatment is working. Watch this video to learn how USAID SAFE’s laboratory innovations and interventions have directly led to improved HIV lab services, including viral load testing, and treatment outcomes for people living with HIV.
USAID SAFE: Supporting an AIDS-Free Era Program, implemented by JSI, works to reduce HIV mortality, morbidity, and transmission, while improving nutrition outcomes and family planning integration, in three provinces with the highest burdens of HIV in Zambia: Central, Copperbelt, and North-Western.
