SunnyMoney Agent Stories – Penny Mupeta, Serenje
SunnyMoney sells and distributes solar lights in Africa, where over 590 million people don’t have access to electricity. Replacing dangerous or toxic lighting sources such as kerosene and candles with portable, affordable solar lights saves money, enables more study time, improves health, makes a home safer and saves the environment from harmful black carbon.
This is a story I did on one of their agents in Serenje, Central Zambia.

Watch this video to learn how USAID SAFE’s laboratory innovations and interventions have directly led to improved HIV lab services, including viral load testing, and treatment outcomes for people living with HIV.

In February 2021, UNICEF staff visited health facilities in Luapula Province to monitor the delivery of essential medical supplies under the COVID-19 response. As part of support to the Ministry of Health, UNICEF – with funding from the Federal Republic of Germany through the KFW Development Bank, the Swedish international development cooperation agency (Sida) and UK aid from the British people – is supplying inter-agency health kits with basic medicines to cover the needs of 5.4 million people. In addition personal protective equipment (PPE) supplies are helping protect frontline health workers, while the medical oxygen system is being supported with oxygen concentrators and the rehabilitation of the oxygen plant at Mansa General Hospital.
